UK In Brief
United Kingdom is a group of 4 smaller countries and is also known as ” Great Britain and Northern Ireland”. Britain is the largest island of UK and is made up of England, Wales and Scotland. Northern Ireland is located on the north of Ireland, which is all in all a separate island. However, Northern Ireland is a part of the UK.
Most of the population of the UK is based in England, which is the biggest of all the four countries. Weather conditions in England are also better than the other three countries as it is a far more flat country with less hilly and mountain regions. It is also because of the strong Gulf currents that Britain is a much warmer country than it should be, considering its location on the world map.
One of the most fascinating features that attracts many tourist here is the numerous small islands around the mainland which can be accessed very easily. These include the Isle of Wight, Isle of Skye, Hebrides, Shetlands, Isle of Anglsey, Isle of Lundy, Isle of Scilly and many others.
Contrary to popular belief, the UK does not include the islands of Jersey, Guersney, Herm, Sark & Alderney which are collectively known as the Channel Islands. These isles get their name from the fact that they lie in the English Channel that separates England and mainland Europe. Although the Channel Islands remain independent and autonomous states, Britain is still responsible for their diplomatic relations on the main stage. Another similar example is that of the Isle of Man, which lies in the Irish sea. In the near future, we will be providing more information about these territories in detail.

I would like to share my terrible experience by riding on the national express coach
Place: Leeds coach station
Date: 30 June 2010
It happened on the coach at 1030 at stand 4. The driver inspected my explorer ticket but refused my boarding because he didn’t release it was a valid ticket. I was sitting on the coach and waiting for him to find other staff to verify my ticket. He accompanied a security guard, Scott, who inspected my ticket and insisted my ticket was not valid. I explained to him that I bought it in Leeds coach station but he didn’t listen to me. He pulled me out of my sit and pushed me out of the coach. He threatened me to throw me out of the station if I attempted to get on. A customer advisor, Ben, came and inspected my ticket and told Scott it was a valid ticket. I asked them to let my got on the coach but they refused me. They let the coach to drive away despite I claimed my bag was still on the coach. I asked them why I was not allowed to get on the coach but they did not give reason. I reported the case to the police. A policewoman came to my aid and requested Ben to arrange me to get on the next coach at 1130. I was angry and frustrated by their manner and more importantly my feeling was deeply hurt and the rest of my planning for the rest of my journey was jeopardized.
