Urbis is an exhibition centre which speaks about the past history and present city life style of Manchester. Designed by Ian Simpson, this unique building can be found in the posh Cathedral Gardens area of Manchester.
On display are contemporary art & designs, the city environment, urban gardening and much more. You can also find guided tours which can cost between £3 & £6. Some of the many tours that can be booked here are:

Ocassionally, there are workshops for parents and children, who can come together and loads of fun while learning about the colourful history of this great city. Here you can find activities like animation station, green fingers, magna summer days etc.
There is a nice gift shop in Urbis where you can buy books on Factory Records, Manga & Graffiti, Manchester's Local History, music cds and much more.
To end your day, there is a spectacular bar and restaurant; "The Modern". The Modern: Bar & Restaurant is located on the 5th and 6th floor of Urbis.
Urbis is also available for corporate hire. Companies can hire this venue breakfasts, through lunch to buffet dinners. Giving spectacular views, 35m over Manchester's sky line, this can be a perfect place to host corporate meetings and launch new products.
