The Ironbridge & Tollhouse are among ten museums that
collectively make up this World Heritage Site that celebrates
the momentous story of Britain's Industrial Revolution. The
great symbol of the success of the iron industry was the Iron
Bridge, now at the heart of the small town that bears its
name. Cast in 1779 at the Coalbrookdale Works of Abraham Darby
III, people cam from all over the world to admire its construction
- just as they do today. An exhibition about its history is
in the original Tollhouse on the south side of the Iron Bridge.
