Tourist Information Truro Cornwall

Stay in a Cornwall hotel in the most southerly county in Britain

Cornwall is a county which stretches out into the sea, and a perfect tourist paradise for long summer days. A Cornwall hotel with a view of the beach is the ideal place to sample the delights Cornwall has to offer.

The golden sands of Cornwall are the perfect place for a traditional seaside holiday. The little ones can play in the sand and paddle in one of the many sandy coves, or build a sand castle, while mum and dad look on and relax in the sun. Then when the day is done you can go back to your Cornwall hotel and plan your evening entertainment.

For a more active day out, try a Cornwall hotel near Newquay, which is famous for its surfing. The Atlantic waves crash onto the beach, and if you are not good at keeping your balance  you can watch the surfer dudes as they ride the breakers. Newquay is the surfing capital of Britain, and you can buy your surfing gear here at Fat Willy’s. Then go back to your Cornwall hotel before going out to try Newquay’s famous nightlife. There are chill out bars and seaside cafes on offer, as well as the nightclubs usually hosted by Radio 1 DJs.

If you ask your Cornwall hotel for details, you can get information for all the trips there are in Cornwall. Try fishing from the local fishing boats. You can also go out and take a look at the sharks which swim off the coast of Cornwall, or just enjoy a sail round one of the coves which are famous for their smugglers, which some say still goes on! And when you get back, you eat one of the traditional Cornish pasties. In fact, you need to eat more than one because each shop will have its own family recipe, handed down for generations.

As well as the sea and the spectacular cliffs, there is inland Cornwall to look at as well. Again, the staff at your Cornwall hotel will be able to advise you. Maybe you would like a visit to one of the tin mines, or you might like to travel to Land’s End, the last place in England. You can visit the castle at Tintagel, where the legendary King Arthur was born, or the stunningly beautiful Lost Gardens of Heligan, filmed as part of the BBC’s Springwatch programme. There is also Cornwall’s capital city, the small but delightful Truro with its cathedral of three spires.
